Buttermilk Skillet Cornbread

A  simple recipe just waiting for your special touch!

Ingredients

2 cups Maine Grains Cornmeal
1 1/2 cups buttermilk
1/4 cups vegetable oil
1 egg
2 tbsp butter
cast iron skillet

instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
  2. Whisk together the cornmeal, buttermilk, oil and egg.
  3. Heat skillet in oven– add butter to hot skillet swirling to coat the pan and sides.
  4. Pour the batter into the hot skillet.
  5. Bake until golden brown– 25-30 minutes.
  6. EAT!
