Blueberry Muffins

Another Miller’s Table Cafe favorite!
Wild Maine blueberries (the tiny ones) make this a classic!


  • Preheat oven to 375ºF

  • 1⁄2 cup butter or vegetable oil

  • 1 cup sugar

  • 2 eggs

  • 2 cups Maine Grains Organic Sifted All Purpose flour

  • 2 tsp baking powder

  • 1⁄2 tsp salt

  • 1⁄2 tsp cinnamon

  • 1 tsp vanilla

  • 1⁄2 cup milk

  • 2 cups Maine wild blueberries (fresh or frozen) or raspberries in season can be used

  • 2 tsp sugar


  • Cream the shortening and sugar in a large bowl, leaving the 2 tsp sugar for the tops before baking.
  • Add eggs, one at a time and mix.
  • Fold in the dry ingredients, then add vanilla, blueberries and milk.
  • Spoon mix into paper tulip cups and sprinkle the tops with the 2 tsp sugar.
  • Bake for 25-30 minutes.
