Buttermilk Cornbread

Ingredients
3⁄4 cups 3⁄4 Maine Grains Organic Cornmeal
1⁄2 tsp 1⁄2 baking soda
2 tsp 2 baking powder
1 tbsp 1 sugar
1 tsp 1 salt
1 cup 1 buttermilk (sour milk or watered down yogurt)
2 2 eggs
3 tbsp 3 melted butter
Directions
- Preheat oven to 425ºF.
- Whisk together the flour, cornmeal, baking soda, baking powder, sugar and salt.
- In a separate bowl beat together the buttermilk, eggs and butter.
- Stir the wet into the dry ingredients with a few swift strokes until combined.
- Pour batter into a greased 8×10″ pan – or a cast iron skillet.
- Bake for about 30 minutes or until bread is a golden brown.
